New year, new chores

Hola amigos!
I hope the new year found you all well. We started the first day folding and putting away clean laundry. And wondering why the humans even own winter clothes. Really. There's no more space in that closet! And no snow or cold weather over here!

Feliz Navidad, amigos

Hello all,
I have wonderful news today. My mother opened a big box that the mail man delivered at our door. It came from a group of friends she has met through this blog, friends that were introduced to her by her first pug, Coco.

It is Coco's memory quilt, a present my family and I will cherish forever. Thank you so much to all of our blog friends who contributed to this awesome gift.

And… Today is Christmas! Here we are at our family photo shoot. I have yet to learn to sit and smile for pictures. Daddy too (he looks angry on every single picture, therefore he is not Christmas Card material). On this picture, Mom was right next to the photographer, and all I wanted was to be right next to mom. Any tips to help mommy teach me that it is OK to sit and wait for the picture to be taken?

Today, I got to spend my very first Christmas in my forever home, with a sister that is fun to have around.

Happy Holidays to all!

Remembering

Hola amigos,
Today mommy was putting some presents underneath the Christmas tree when she suddenly remembered what day it was. Eight years ago, mommy and daddy bought mommy's Christmas present: her first pug, Coco. Nothing will ever replace the space he left in my mother's heart, although I'm being told four dozen times a day how loved I am.

The Meal

Hola Amigos,
A few minutes ago our thanksgiving celebration ended. My mother cooked for days, invited friends over who had also cooked for days, everything was set on the table and they all ate.
End of story.
---
P.S. I was starving, and was only fed kibble with a tiny piece of turkey; no side dishes, no pie. I wouldn't be thankful at all today, but my pug friend Jaxson came over, so that was FUN!
(I promise to get a picture with Jax next time. Our humans were in a food comma and incapable of thinking straight).

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hola amigos! Feliz día de acción de gracias!
(I'm improving my Spanish, can you tell?)
Mom has been in the kitchen since early morning, working on our Thanksgiving lunch to be had tomorrow - since this is her first time preparing this huge meal, she thought she would need two days for preparations, baking and cooking!
Let me tell you, those homemade dishes are driving me insane. I've barked the whole day to have a taste of everything on the menu, and I haven't let any of the humans leave the kitchen. They are my prisoners and no matter how many times they tell me there's nothing for me, I WON'T GIVE UP.

Time to say bye bye?

I don't think so!
(And this is why my sister was late to school and mom to work)

Baking cake

Hola amigos!
Just a quick note to let you know that today is mother's birthday. We're busy baking cookies for the big celebration tonight. We have a flourless chocolate cake waiting for the humans in the fridge, and we are patiently waiting for daddy to get home. He better hurry otherwise it will be a cakeless birthday celebration!

Morning coffee

Hola amigos!
Here we are, enjoying this wonderful November weather, relaxed in front of the TV and drinking a cup of café con leche. Would you like mom's recipe? Yes! I thought so!

Ingredients:
- Almond milk
- Cuban coffee
- Organic maple syrup
- A touch of Coconut spray (we like Chumlee brand)

Preparation:
Heat the milk in a small saucepan. Add coffee and syrup, let it foam. Pour into a cup, let it cool a little and add coconut spray right before serving.
Enjoy!

The big bed

Hola amigos!
I've been meaning to post for a few days now, but the amount of pictures I have to choose from is overwhelming; that's how photogenic my sister and I are.
So, I've decided to post short stories, more often. This is an old picture from back when I "wasn't" allowed in bed (by my father).
We've come a long way as last night all four of us co-slept. Hurray for mommy for making this possible!
