Feeling Lucky!

Hello friends!
I feel like the luckiest pug today! First, I won an award by Lola, which comes in handy right now because I've been fighting an infection for quite some time but my white cell levels seem to be coming down after a couple of complete blood count tests, although I will still be on medication for a few more days. It is always a concern, since I take prednisone every day to control Addison's disease and that increases my chances of getting sick but I need the prednisone to live. Thank you so much, Lola!

Also, I've been tagged twice: thank you Wilma and Lola!

1. Describe yourself in seven words.

Starving blind male pug, who just ate.

2. What keeps you up at night?
Nothing, unless I am not feeling very well. I can sleep through my sister's cry (which happens not too often), not without letting a small growl out.
3. Who would you like to be?
I'd like to be a healthier and taller version of myself (tables at home are tall).

4. What are you wearing right now?

My beautiful fawn fur.

5. What scares me?
Almost nothing. It amazes mom that I am supposed to not handle stress very well, but at the same time I am a very brave pug. When my percorten shot is due, I do get kind of scaredy though.
6. The best and worst of blogging.
The best is to find so many new friends, for me and specially for mom. I guess it is not very easy to find people that are kind of like you, specially when you move to a new country.

It is bad that most of those new friends live miles away. Worst than that? If they do get to travel, they don't bring their pugs along! (THAT APPLIES TO YOU, MOM).

7. What is the last website you visited?

Google (we had to search for what CBC stands for)

8. What is the one thing I would change about myself.

I would change not being sick. I'd rather have mom spend her money in pet friendly vacations (pug included) instead of the vet.

9. Slankets. Yes or no?

I had to google that. It is too warm in here. I'd rather be naked!

10. Tell us something about the person who tagged you.

Both are not persons but female pugs. Both are sweet, funny and bossy. Now that I think about it, both are helping me understand better my very own sister! Thank you, girls!

In the meantime...

Hello friends,
I am preparing a long post at mom's office but it is taking several minutes out if several lunch breaks for her to finish since she uses her lunch hour to do errands as well since it is about the only time that she spends without my sister by her side. I wish she could focus on the important matters: finish that blog post, lady!
In the meantime, I have not so good news: I have arthritis. I am not in pain and it hasn't stopped me in my quest to reach whatever food is served for my sister.
My only complain is that my vet suggested that swimming would help with the condition and my parents have not called a contractor yet to build me a pool.

What to expect

When you are a new parent you expect your whole life to change. That's specially true with human babies because pug puppies are just naturally easier to raise - well, in our case it was easier only because we have daddy and he is the alpha... Mom is not!
Anyway, after reading a lot of books due to a lack of hands on experience on my mother's part, my sister was born. We expected endless nights with a crying baby, we expected tantrums, weekend visits to the ER for unknown sicknesses, etc. What did we get? None of that!
Mom, dad and baby sister co-sleep. No sleepless nights. She still breast feeds. No hungry baby, no long sicknesses, sporadic tantrums last less than one minute.
Mom and dad need to get a real life! That's where I come in to help. Sleepless nights, worries about me not eating, of having unknown infections, weekly visits to the vet, and the list goes on and on. Never underestimate the power of the pug - the power to stress you out!

Reaching high

Do you guys have important goals in life? Like, to reach the piece of furniture where everything that's not supposed to be reached by child and pug is?

In my city

Food Trucks are in, specially gourmet ones. Dogs are allowed in most events where they participate. Just make sure you can reach the food, if you get to go.

Question

Why do messy toddlers get to eat at the table while trained pugs have to stay on the floor? Ok, I am not trained, but still... I stay on the floor and all I get is a bowl of water!

My day, yesterday

Woke up sick.
Got my "good morning" kiss.
Walked funny until I puked.
Went to the vet, got my cortisone shot.
Got back home feeling much better and ate lunch.
At dinnertime I was back to feeling great!
Someone offered me cheese for dessert but sadly I didn't get my paws to it before dad picked it up from the floor.
Gave a "good night" hug.
Thank you friends for all the get well wishes!

It's my turn today

Good morning all,
We have been taking turns to get sick over here since the new year begun. Mom had an awful cold and sinusitis, daddy hurt his arm, I had a mild pancreatitis ( mom still thinks it was an Addison's episode), my sister had a bad ear infection. We both finished our antibiotics yesterday. We all seemed to be well. Until today.
Mom noticed I was not sleeping at 1 a.m. She spent quite sometime with me but then went back to bed. I spent most of the night sitting against the bed frame. I woke up very thirsty. I am not eating nor interested in anything except whatever is in my sister's hand (that's a good sign). I am mostly laying down this morning, complaining. My monthly cortisone shot was due last Wednesday but my appointment is today. Mom is hoping that it is just that, plus she thinks that I had a stressful day yesterday.
It is just too soon since I got sick the last time and mom is starting to freak out.
Hopefully, tomorrow's post will be a happier one.
Love to all,
Coco
