This past week has been very appropiate for Halloween. Everything up-side down and weird and bad.
To start the week, I had lots to do at the office. The phone didn't stop for a minute as I was trying to finish a big project that was due Wednesday. To make things worst, we had more clients and visitors at the office than the whole past months together. Midweek, one of our subcontractors sent his father with a memory stick for my co-worker to download a work file on his computer. * Note: all of my co-workers are men *
My co-worker starts work on Wednesday in the afternoon so I kept the memory stick. Minutes later another subcontractor came to the office with his two sons and his 3 year-old grand-daugther (is that spelled right?). OK, so the girl is walking around the office and I had the memory stick on my desk, which I was trying to clean up to continue the big project. I insert the memory stick on my computer and this photo-something program that I-don't-know-why-is-installed-here *I hate it* appears on my computer showing some very very unappropiate pictures, unappropiate for me, for a workplace and much more for a little girl! The girl and her father were right behind me, and I was soooo embarassed with the event that I don't know how I managed to minimize the program, jump off my chair and explain that those pics were not mine, all in one second. Luckily, the girl didn't notice a thing, and later my co-worker was able to download the correct file on his computer.
I was in a bad mood already, but things got worst the next day, Thursday. My husband has had a very bad allergy for over a year. Basically, he can't breathe from one side of the nose and was scheduled for surgery in the morning. When I picked him up at midday, after surgery, he was acting very strange. Like violent. I've heard my boss mention how he reacted one time violently under the effects of the anesthesia, and this was the case. I was all confused and just tried to please hubby because I knew that at the same time he was in pain and had blood pouring from his nose, he was not being himself at the moment. He asked me to do a left turn where I knew was not permitted but he "insisted" not very nice so, guess what? I got my first traffic ticket ever!
I have carpet on my apartment. I understand that it is not the cleanest option for him right now, so he is staying at his mother's * haunted house * until he feels better. He misses me and he is coming back home tomorrow. Now, his doctor said that his allergies are caused by Coco. Did he really had to say that??? What about me? I've had allergies my whole live, all my family have allergies. Three months ago, I was in such bad condition that almost every breath I took caused me to start sneezing and continue for hours. I was lucky to see this doctor that prescribed a nasal spray that had not only controlled my allergies but also I was able to hear well again. So, hubby's doctor went from prescribing antibiotics and antiinflamatories for a week, a couple of times, to surgery. And then, bye bye to the dog?
Of course, hubby is not asking that. But now I feel bad because the cause of his health problem is living in the house thanks to me. Don't misunderstand me. Hubby loves Coco, and Coco can't live without his daddy. I gave up lots of things to be able to fight my allergies. I don't use make-up or perfumes. Everything I use is fragance-free. I banned candles, odorizers and perfumes at work, etc. I just kept the apartment (carpet) and Coco, and all my allergies are gone! I just hope that hubby's doctor prescribes him something that will help him in the long term, just like my doctor did. If not, Coco will probably be the last dog in my life. How sad.
Today I was taking Coco to work with me. I was running late and ate a banana on my way there. Coco stole the banana skin and disapeared it in a second. The vet told me that it is not toxic but is hard to digest. Basically I had a little farting pig the whole day at the office. Oh, and I had forgotten my camera at home so I couldn't take a picture to submit for C's costume contest. :(
The good news? I will start my Journal Class today!!!
"Boo!! Happy Halloween everyone, have fun!"

Wow, that certainly is a stinky week (no pun intended). Can the hubby not take Allegra or Claritin or Zyrtek for the allergies? Are you certain it is Coco? Was he tested?
Mom is like you in regards to perfume and after shave and candles and bathroom cleaners and stuff like that. It makes it very hard when you are .04% of the population with an especially sensitive nose.
We hope your weekend gets better and that hubby is acting more like normal. Sorry about the ticket.
:)

ooof. that is a stinky week. Fortunately, it sounds like it can't get much worse - so the next few weeks should be an improvement.
Good luck and Happy halloween.
p.s. Jeremy has dog and cat allergies - he gets an allergy shot every other week for it - his work insurance covers it and it has totally controlled his allergies. You might look into that for you and your hubby.
oh Sandra, what a rough week! I am so sorry you are having a difficult time. We're here for you...I have terrible allergies too and use a combination of Singulair pills and Flonase spray.
We'll be hoping things calm down and get back to normal for you soon!
Hugs,
Puglette
:o)
So sorry to hear about your bad week! I hope things start looking up now. I second the "flonase" suggestion - I am super allergic to cats, and at one point we had 5 of them when I was growing up. I used flonase and it cleared things right up! I would suggest he ask his doctor about that. And also allergy testing would sure be helpful! Maybe it isn't Coco at all!
Love Clover xo
Sandra, we hope your week gets better, so sorry you had to go through all of that. We are thinking comforting thoughts for you and sending hugs to you and little Coco the Farty Banana Peel Puggy.
xxoooooo
Oh, Sandra...you had a trying couple of days, didn't you!? How is your hubby doing? Better at all?
I hate carpet! I cannot wait until I'm living in a house where I can rip it all out. Right now my HUGE pet peeve is carpet in the bathroom. Why do builders do this?
