A New Family Member

This past weekend was really great. My cousin arrived from Perú with his family, a total of 10 people. They were on their way to Orlando (Disney) but spent the whole Saturday with me at my apartment. I was so happy to have them over!
My mother sent some peruvian "ricos" to me. Two complete luggages. Here is a part of what I got:

Lots of cookies and chocolates, six different flavours of exotic fruit preserves, artichokes, 3 bottles of liquor, bread, etc. She also sent two boxes with old ribbons and buttons, for the journals that I am making.
My cousin is more than 10 years older than me, but is my favourite cousin. We went to the same university - at different times, of course. His wife, father in law and brothers in law also went to my university. They are all like family to me. They have a 12 year old daughter and a cute little 1 year old boy. Meet Mikel:

Mikel is learning to walk, but managed to spend the whole day chasing Coco.

(Unable to take a better picture).
My cousin is considering getting a Pug for Mikel when they get back to Perú. Coco behaved well and has pacience with small kids. They all loved him! The funny thing is that after spending 8 hours with Coco and me at home, they asked if he really can't see. They still couldn't believe it because he acts just like a normal dog.
On Sunday I planned to take Coco to the pool again but I woke up very late and very tired. Coco was tired too, so I didn't feel too bad staying home. In the afternoon I went to my Food & Fun meetup group get together. We had taken a Thai cooking class a while ago and met this time to cook it ourselves. Now you can understand why my diets fail all the time. Everything was yummy!
It was a great weekend, with great weather. When I opened my door today, I almost froze. It was very cold! I was happy to be able to wear my winter shoes, I just love them!

Today was a great day, too, because of the arrival of a new member of the family: Meet Pocho, my new pug doll. Thank you so much Melissa!

To finalize, I will leave you all with an old picture of Coco. This is from my last year's birthday, in Key Largo. Coco is shaking, can you see the sand falling off his body?

Oh! By the way, thank you all so much for the birthday greetings!

I agree with your family - when I watch those videos of Coco I find it almost impossible to believe that he is blind. He's so amazing!
And I'm super jealous of your melissa-pug-doll!!

Wow, did you score with all those gifts or what? We are glad your family likes Coco. Most people don't realize that dogs and cats use their noses, ears, and then eyes, in that order. As opposed to humans which use eyes, ears and then noses/sense of smell.

Sandra, your mom really sent you lots of goodies! And Melissa's doll is so cute! I want one now! How could your family not fall in love with Coco? I hope Mikel gets a pug of his own!

Sounds like you had a wonderful time with your favorite cousin. And I agree with your family...It is amazing that he's blind because he doesn't act timid or anything...you would really never know that he was blind.

And I loooove your new pug doll from Melissa! That was on my Etsy favorites list and I noticed when it sold. That was you! :)
