Right where I belong

Hello friends!

I am back after a very difficult time. I was in charge of our home and of the care and protection of the ladies of the family because daddy was hospitalized and underwent surgery last week. Although it was a time of great responsibility for me, it was also an enjoyable time, since I was able to be bossy and I was also allowed to sleep with my mother and sister. Or, they were allowed to sleep with me, to be more precise. Mom complained that the floor is too hard to sleep on for a whole week. My sister didn't say a word, other than baba, dada, agua and mama.

I behaved, as was expected by my father. And that ocassion when my mother had to run home right when dad's surgery ended - and before she was allowed to see him - because the alarm went off? No, I didn't push that door. It was mom's fault for not closing it properly. I was a starving pug waiting for someone to feed me. It is not my fault that the surgery started much later than expected. Lucky mom, she was allowed to see dad in the post-op room before heading home. She can't tell what freaked her out the most: if the fear of going home and find uninvited guests there, or the devastating look of my father in pain.

Now that we are back to normal, I have resumed my post right next to the refrigerator door.
