My very own personal space heater

Good morning, friends!

I hope you are all warm and toasty! It got really cold yesterday - daddy says it was 60 degrees inside the house. That's very cold for us, considering that my family has been going to the beach everyday until this past weekend.

So, it was time to turn the central A/C to "heater" for the first time. It didn't work! Next, it was time to start the logs in the chimney for the first time. It didn't work!

Us babies were at risk of hypothermia, except that my sister is always warm because she sleeps in the family bed. I can't sleep there, not because I am not allowed (which I am according to mom but I am not according to dad) but because I never wanted to. What if I fall? I'd rather be on ground level. Sleepwalking is safer there.

Anyway, mom put my PJs on and kissed me good night. Later, I woke her up. I was shivering, uncomfortable and restless. She could listen my paws on the floor as I tried to find the warmest and softest spot. Me bed is by the sliding door - not the warmest place. But is the softest so I kept coming back. What a difficult desicion for me!

Mom had to wait for my sister to go back to sleep from night nursing #2 (that may go up to #10 if mom can count right half-asleep) to jump out of bed and hug me.

I know I've said before that I don't like to be hugged for so long but this time it was different. We had a purpose - to make me feel warm! She didn't stop hugging me until my last ear was warm. She was clearly taking advantage of how easily huggable I was, I know that.

Then, she moved my bed to the other side of the room, put her fleece sweater on top of the bed, put a warm pillow on one side and placed me on top of it. There I stayed - and sneezed a few times, to my mom's concern - until the next morning.

When she woke up she took me to the vet not because I was cold the night before, as I had thought, but because my monthly shot was due. She was clearly not THAT insane, but I still found it appropiate to have the serious talk with her. "Only because it was very cold, mom. Don't get accostumed to those long hugs - and don't ever dream to do it in public!".

Coco, it's too bad you don't like the big bed. It's wonderfully warm and cozy. I made my peeps get one low to the ground. Hehee!
Love,
Payton
Ps. Hope that heater gets fixed soon.

Hola Coco
I know what it is like to be so cold!Last winter our heater broke and it got so cold in the house you could see your breath! My mommy put a blanket over my crate and a sweater on my to help keep me warm. We celebrated big time when the heater was fixed.

I like the big bed too Coco but usually don't like being under the covers. I have crawled under the covers for the last two nights because the temp dropped outside and Mom forgot to turn the heat inside up to compensate. Tonight she better get with the program or I am going to do my best pug scream to wake her up! Hope your heat is fixed soon!

She is totally trying to ruin your imgage Coco. Moms are soooo embarrassing. I practically sleep on mom's neck so I can't relate to you on that issue.

Hi Coco
Its so miserable to be cold!
Your mom loves you so much so she tried her best to make you warm! What nice things she did for you- covering you up so nicely and hugging you. I know you don't like it for very long, but every now and then is nice- right Coco?
