Mastering the Art

Dear Friend,

Have you ever wondered how I've prepared myself to be a such an excellent and successful writer? The answer is very simple: I read, or more specifically, I get someone to read to me. Storytime at home may be the most valuable instruction I will ever get.

40 pounds of cuteness

About two weeks ago I overheard this conversation between mom and dad:

"The doctor asked me to try to avoid giving snacks to baby Alfa while at home".

"What?" replied daddy. "Why would the pediatrician ask that?"

"Actually, it was the vet who suggested that, since Coco is overweight and that may be the reason he's been limping lately."

Daddy rolled his eyes, not amused.

Two days later, the vet called with some test results. "It came positive for a bacterial infeccion caused by a tick bite, which may be causing the limping. I will prescribe antibiotics for a month."

That throws overboard the idea of avoiding the pug to eat 3/4 of whatever baby is supposed to eat, since being overweight is not the issue, right mom?

"No, Coco. Sorry."

At the vet appointment today, the scale hit the record number of 40 pounds. Instead of the usual "he is too overweight", someone screamed: "those two are so cute together!". It turns out that baby Alfa's weight is the same as mine. And that I am not overweight anymore. Bring on the snacks!

Six years ago...

I was born! I haven't received my present yet, but I don't think I can handle any more kisses from my mother. And don't tell me that those kisses are my present. No way.

Also, three years ago, I started my blog. I was a shy pug and it took a big deal of effort to decide to press that "create a blog" button. And I am so glad I did!

Cheers!

It's the weekend, friends

And my birthday is coming soon. Mom, why don't you go shopping for my present? There's an appliance store nearby and I would like one of these. Just make sure it has a doggy door. Thank you.

Work Schedule

Good morning friends,

Mom and dad were talking about work yesterday. There's been a lot going on in dad's work place ever since he left for medical leave and he is very stressed out about it. There's also been changes in mom's office and she is very stressed out as well. And then, I heard the shocking news: mom clocks in and out. Really? Can you imagine having your lunch time limited by a horrible machine? Can you believe this has been going on for almost a year?

Not to make you feel bad mom, but, would you like to know what I am doing while you clock in to work, out to lunch, in again to work and then out to go home?

Be safe, my friends

I hope all of our friends on the hurricane path are safe and well. We are in the process of getting our home prepared for a hurricane, because they seem to like this area the most.

"Mom, I know that you are saving money for important things in life. But, could we get a new doggy door? Please?"

Driving Miss Bossy

Hellooo *yawn*...

Can you imagine a life of sleep deprivation, a.k.a. pug torture? Let me explain what is going on here.

First, daddy is on medical leave. That makes for an anxious pug that is constantly hunting for bread crumbs and fallen pieces of whatever he may be eating at the time. That's limited my nap time on week days.

Add to that, a loving sister who wants to hug me as soon as she wakes up in the morning. Or at dawn. Or even a couple of hours after she's gone to bed.

Then, there's the driving her to places... I am truly exhausted!

Mom needs a vacation

Mommy has a few brand new gray hairs. One of us is responsible for that, I heard. Something about someone being stubborn and driven but too little at the same time.

I am little. Mom? Am I in trouble?
