About two weeks ago I overheard this conversation between mom and dad:
"The doctor asked me to try to avoid giving snacks to baby Alfa while at home".
"What?" replied daddy. "Why would the pediatrician ask that?"
"Actually, it was the vet who suggested that, since Coco is overweight and that may be the reason he's been limping lately."
Daddy rolled his eyes, not amused.
Two days later, the vet called with some test results. "It came positive for a bacterial infeccion caused by a tick bite, which may be causing the limping. I will prescribe antibiotics for a month."
That throws overboard the idea of avoiding the pug to eat 3/4 of whatever baby is supposed to eat, since being overweight is not the issue, right mom?
"No, Coco. Sorry."
At the vet appointment today, the scale hit the record number of 40 pounds. Instead of the usual "he is too overweight", someone screamed: "those two are so cute together!". It turns out that baby Alfa's weight is the same as mine. And that I am not overweight anymore. Bring on the snacks!

Coco, I totally think you deserve more snacks to make you feel better from the nasty tick bite!
