What it takes...

To make this pug tired:
1. Casually mention that you are going to the beach. The pug will get extremely excited and will pant and jump and be stuck to you for the next two hours until you actually leave the house.
2. Get in the car, put the pug's car harness on and attach it to the rear seat belt. He will start crying 15 minutes after and won't stop until you reach your destination an hour later.
3. Try to reach a spot on the beach. The more you get closer to the water the harder the pug will pull towards the opposite side. Carry him.
4. Unleash the beast, er pug. He will inspect everybody else's bags for treats, and will run towards anyone hadling a bag.
5. The pug will ocassionally try to jump inside the bucket where everyone is throwing away poop bags. Eww.
6. Ask the pug if he wants to go swimming. He will run away again.
7. Take the pug back in the car and listen to him crying all the way to the diner.
8. Try to hold the pug's leash right next to you so he stops scratching your friend's lap (she always brings treats!). Watch the pug walk to the other side of the table. What is he doing without his buddy belt harness? Oh yes, and he did it four times.
9. Finally, decide it is better to hold the pug with your arms, while you try to eat. Don't unterestimate the length of his tongue: He will lick your french toast.
10. Get back in the car and listen once again to the pug cry for 15 minutes.
11. Did he stop crying? Yes. He jumped to the front seat and entertained himself chewing some tissue paper. He got off the car's harness that is attached to the rear seat belt!

How can a pug not be tired after having to go through all this? Mother, I need a beach front home!

Lucky Wednesday

Happy Saint Patrick's day my friends!
I do hope this is a lucky day for you all. I don't have any new pictures on mom's phone and she is feeling too tired to take one, but I still wanted write to thank you all for leaving comments on my latest post. We don't have any news about the job yet, but there is a possibility of dad getting a position here and not up there in West Palm Beach. Yeah, if you thought we were moving to a snowing state, you were wrong. Two hours north is the most my parents would move away from here. They can't handle cold weather very well!
About the puggy, mom told her friend that right now it was not a good moment for us. Mom really needs to save all her energy for my new sister; she has zero experience with babies! Mom also wants to give me as much attention as possible after the baby is born; and we all know that that will be much less attention than what I am getting now. Mom would like to continue taking me places like the beach, pug meetup, shopping... and she thinks it will be easier to do with one pug and a baby. Also, dad wants me to be an only child (and he jokes about getting a double dose of allergens if we get another pug. He sneezes a lot with me). So mom offered her friend help finding a new home for the puggy, but when she found one, her friend thought they were not good enough for the puggy. What more than a loving family could a pug need? Mom decided to step aside and let her friend find the ideal home of "a woman with no kids and no job so she could spend all day petting him but with enough money to buy him expensive meat" for the little pug.
Now, I need to go bite daddy's shoes or something. He is laying on the sofa watching TV and not trying to fix the internet. This situation is really getting on my nerves! Grrr!

What? A brother?

Good morning friends,
Last night I was suddenly awaken by my mother trying to sleep by my side again. She whispered something on my ear, something that kept me thinking all night long.
Let me start by telling you some other news we have. First, right when I was planning to spend the weekend bloggin' I found out that our internet connection broke. Dad tried to fix it but hasn't been successful yet, therefore I blog from a cellphone with a crappy picture once again.
Second, we might move up north. Or might not. You see, dad had a job offer and an interview and we are waiting for a more precise offer to decide if all the changes involved with taking that offer are worth it. What changes, you ask? Well, moving to another city, renting/buying a house there, mom quiting her job, having a baby, mom probably staying at home with the baby for about six months (actually she'd like that to be two or three years), mom maybe going back to school because she really needs a career change that works better with being a human mother (she is considering becoming a teacher)...
And then last night's news: mom's highschool friend sent her a message asking if she'd like to keep her two year old pug. This lady has a kid, a baby and is expecting another baby now. I met this puggy when he was a puppy and we got along well. Actually, I scratched this puggy's apartment's front door right before he pooped in the kitchen. There might be a mental connection between us.

Now, this is what dad said about it:
- ask your friend to take Coco instead.
- we have to be careful with that pug harming Coco while playing since he can't see
- are you crazy? That means more vet bills and responsibilities
- Coco: please make a complaint, your mother is trying to replace you.

This is what mom thinks:
- if we had a backyard, things would be easier
- I need a lot of vet care and without a job, mom has a lot of reasons to worry. So adding another puggy might not be wise.
- if I will like having a brother. I am the king of the house right now.
- how us puggies will do with our new human sister. Maybe one pug will be easier to handle.
- if she doesn't take this puggy, who will?

So far, a desicion has not been made.

Goin' hunting

Hello old and new friends!
I am getting adjusted to our old life now that grandma flew back home, meaning that mom and dad will have more time to do regular stuff like, uhm, yesterday, when they spent about 17 hours sleeping and 4 hours watching movies and eating. They say they are recuperating much needed energy, which I believe in dad's part since he hasn't been feeling well lately... but mom? What's wrong with mom? She is just plain lazy!
Anyway, I wanted to say a big hello to my new friends and followers, I still owe you a visit to your blogs!
Now, I remember someone asking about one of my favorites snack, and a rare delicacy: the poopsicle. That's something money can't buy; you have to hunt it. I can't provide information about how it can be done, because that's something you wouldn't like your parents to know: I get on time-out everytime my parents find out I've had some. You can see the pictures above and get the idea of how you search for poopsicles. Just be sneaky about it!
Have a nice (sunny if possible) Sunday everyone!

A not so lucky day

This is what I did today:
- I went to mom's office because she forgot to do something yesterday that was very important. Boring.
- I went with mom and grandma to a cuban place for breakfast. No good luck for me.
- I had to sit in the back seat of the car, my second time wearing the new harness mom bought so I can get fastened with a seat belt. Safe for me but not fun.
- I was dropped off at the vet to get my injection and to get a bath. Sigh.
- I had to wear again the new harness, but this time I was nice and clean. Not fun yet.
- I went with mom and grandma to an argentinian restaurant for lunch. No good luck for me.
- I went back home and took a long nap with mom lying by my side on the floor. She started sneezing because I smell nice and clean and she is allergic to perfumes. No good luck for her :P

Sweet!

Hello friends!
My dear mother decided to take some of her precious time to turn the computer on for me, and do you know what I just realized? I have TOO MANY things I haven't shared with you all! So I decided to go back in time and start posting some of my December activities. But before that, I would like to thank my friends who sent me this award. I am sorry I can't remember exactly because it was a while ago; I didn't have access to the computer for so long and mom's phone is cheapy (a.k.a. too basic for blogging). I did feel honored and we are very grateful for your friendship.

We tried copying the rules for the award but this new uploading and format thingy is not being cooperative at all. I know I have to list ten things that make me happy and to tag ten bloggers who brighten my day. ALL my bloggy friends brighten my day! I keep up with all your stories being them happy or sad; just knowing that we are here for each other makes our relationship a very special one. So this award will go to all of my bloggy friends!
Ten things that make Coco happy:
green beans and carrots
to sit by the front door waiting for dad to come home
walks, specially those with mom where I get to sniff a lot
pug meetup
to go to the vet's appointment and have her give me a cookie
poopsicles
toilet paper
to leave my fur on mom and dad's bed (when daddy is not home)
to chew my marrow bone
to have daddy pet me as soon as he wakes up

I will leave you with some pictures of a playdate I had with my friend Jax right before Christmas.

This is Jax:

This is me (ignore the food):

This is grandma:

This is dad:

This is what everyone was doing:

I hope you all had a great weekend. I did, and I can't wait to share it with you.

Hasta manana!

Is this how a nurse gets paid?

After a long day of work I slept deeply through the night. I failed to wake up early, and to wake dad up on time to go to work. Mom opened her eyes at 6:50 a.m. and rushed daddy to leave to work.
What did I found next? To my surprise, daddy left running and closed the bedroom door right behind him. Sure, mom barely slept that night with a stomachache and difficulty to breathe. But that doesn't mean that she will ignore a pug's hunger, right? She rolled on MY blankie and went back to bed.
I barked, and cried, and whinned, and did all the noises I have learned in my short life until she finally woke up, opened the door and followed me downstairs to fill my dish with food and carrots.
What do I get in exchange? She started having a headache. Lady, no more ailments, please. The nurse needs some time off to rest.
