I was glad to read some venting posts from our bloggy friends the past hours because I got to understand that under certain circumstances, one can always count on bloggy buddies for support, even from far, far away. Buddies that will understand you, that is.
I would also like to share something. It sounds kind of silly, but I prefer to not mention my blog to people around me because everytime I do so, I get comments like: Don't you have something better to do? Or I get a look, like I am crazy or stupid.
If I ever mention the blog, people don't show any interest in it. I don't think anyone I know in person has ever seen my blog. Maybe one or two friends, the most. It is not that I care a lot about what others might think of it, but I really enjoy writing and sharing stories, and this is the place where I do it. To tell the truth, even my husband thinks I am kind of weird for reading pug blogs and having my own blog. I think it is fun and I like it. What is wrong with that? ; P
Our friend Harry gave us an award that is passed to bloggers for showing great Attitude and/or Gratitude. Thank you, Harry!

I would like to pass this award tooooooo (ta-ran):
- Emmitt
- Puddy and
- Jemima
Enjoy!

Thank you for the Award Sandra y Coco! I do believe this is the first time Howie has ever received an award for having a positive attitude, usually he is the ringleader in getting his puggy friends in trouble! We are so glad you are blogging, and know what you mean about people around not understanding. I have to say, in the years I joined dogster and started blogging, I have made some of the dearest, closest friends in my life, people who have stood with me and helped me when I lost Winnie and people I have gone to visit all over the US. Friends that I will have for a lifetime. So keep blogging Sandra, stay in touch, we love you and are so glad you have a giving heart and want to share yourself and Coco with us.
hugs from Texas!
I'm so glad you brought this up - I feel like this a lot too, like I get self-conscious when I start talking about my blog because I feel like people don't take it seriously, but Nancy is right - this is a great community of people. They are real people and they are caring and wonderful and they DO become your friends. So keep blogging and don't be embarassed! We're glad you're here!
hi sandra and coco!
thank you so much for the award!
we love you and are so glad we have you.

Hi Sandra,
I am glad you talked about this too. I will admit that I don't usually tell people about "my" blog and if someone mentions it, I am a little embarrassed - but I don't know why! I love doing it, and I am so happy to be a part of our lovely community! This isn't about us not having anything else to do, or being crazy - it is a fun pastime and such a great way to connect with people who feel the same way we do about our pets!
I think we should be proud!
Sending hugs your way!

Sandra, I completely agree! Not too many people know about my blog, and I suppose I am just fine with that. Few people understand! I am so glad to get to keep up with you and Coco. You really brighten my day!
Eduardo's Mommy Here: I have to tell you when I tell people about my blog & they read it & they relize that it 'supposed' to be Eduardo talking, I do get looks & asked "don't you have something better to do". Truth be told, I don't. I don't care, I'm closer to people here in blogger than people here in Georgia. I love blogging & wouldn't give it up & I don't want you to worry at all about what other people think. If they don't want to share your joy, oh well!
Hugs & Snugs

I have to say I totally agree! And like Eduardo's Mommy, I like my blogger buddies better than most people I know here (Kelly and Laura count as blogger buddies even though they're from around here) and I am more comfortable talking about things (even if it is through the pugs). My husband thinks it's great that I am blogging here, although he thinks I am a little crazy for blogging for the pugs ;-)
We love you and we love reading about Coco's adventures! And we really loved the cheese-hunting video!
Pug hugs and kisses!

Oh, I like your blog, your in-person friends don't know what they're missing. I'm very lucky in that my family and friends don't think I'm crazy because I'm crazy over my pugs and cats. I love my pets so much, I know they're not my children, but it feels like I'm their mama. They are good babies and I love them. I like reading about other people's experiences with their pets and I like sharing my experiences with my pets. That's all that matters is that you enjoy your blog!
I know exactly what you mean Sandra.. I don't tell many people I blog because I get enough comments about Gus and having 2 dogs and 2 cats.
I agree there are so many wonderful and loving people here and that is the best part.
I am lucky though, my husband loves my blog and when he is out of town it is his way of keeping up with the puppies. :)
Sometimes I take some flack about blogging, but those people have not met the people I've met or made the friendships I've made! I am SO glad I started blogging and got to meet so many wonderful people..the rest..well...who needs them!
My husband thinks it's funny I blog...secretly I KNOW he reads my blog!
Heh, still waiting for you address!!!!! Need to mail the plaque to you, you won, remember????
I agree with everyone above. I get looks and etc. I love reading everyones stuff and seeing the pics and videos though! I am so glad you posted this and so glad you posted about Coco. He is so cute!
Well, lucky for us, Auntie and memere and Mr. Karate all have blogs, so we are a "family that blogs together" type. Mom's best friend says if she ever wants to know what is happening with mom, she just reads the blog.
But mom agrees with you, she says people don't get it and they don't understand the connection you can make with other bloggers.
So you know what mom says? THEIR LOSS!
If any of you ever come up to New Hampster, you are certainly welcome here!
Roxy
